Join us at the Curtin Creative Festival

October 20th, 2015 by Library Makers Category: News and Events

It’s been very exciting in the MakerSpace lately as we prepare to participate in the Curtin Creative Festival, being held from the 20 – 22 October, from 11 – 2 pm at Atkinson Forum.

We plan to be running a few fun activities over the three days in our outdoor pop-up MakerSpace.

  • Design and make a badge with the Badge Maker machine
  • Create a painting using the WaterColorBot
  • Print a pattern on an ping pong ball using the Eggbot
  • Make a electronic-powered creation using LittleBits
  • Create unusual keyboards/ game controllers using a Makey Makey
  • Create a 3D object using a 3D Doodler Pen
  • Build lego creations on Edison robots
  • Knitting, crocheting and yarn bombing.

We won’t be running them all at the same time. Instead we are going to have three of four activities going at one time, and vary them each day.

It will be interesting to see how people engage with the activities – each one presents its own challenges, not just for the participants, but for the facilitators too!

I hope you can come and join us to do some creative making!

Curtin would like to pay respect to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members of our community by acknowledging the traditional owners of the land on which the Perth campus is located, the Whadjuk people of the Nyungar Nation; and on our Kalgoorlie campus, the Wongutha people of the North-Eastern Goldfields.
