Our first drop-in session - Arduinos!

September 13th, 2015 by Library Makers Category: News and Events

Are you interested in tinkering with electronics? Then come along on Wednesday 12 – 2 pm to the Library Makerspace’s first drop-in session!

This week’s focus is on using Arduinos. Arduino is “an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software… intended for anyone making interactive projects.” We’ll introduce the concepts, tinker with the hardware and software, and discuss ideas for using arduinos. Bring your own, or use those provided in the makerspace.

Our weekly drop in session is free for any Curtin students or staff to come along and do some making. Each week we have a focus on a particular making activity, providing the opportunity for new and experienced makers to try things out, learn something new and share experience and knowledge. It is held in 259A, in the library lounge area.

Curtin would like to pay respect to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members of our community by acknowledging the traditional owners of the land on which the Perth campus is located, the Whadjuk people of the Nyungar Nation; and on our Kalgoorlie campus, the Wongutha people of the North-Eastern Goldfields.
